Oven Preheat Door Locked

If you suspect that the sensor is at fault you should first remove the power to the oven for a few moments and then reconnect.

If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds. Press cancel off key to start a latch reset wait 20 30 seconds and open door turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute then turn the power back on. If you re still not having any luck run the shortest cleaning cycle you can on your oven. If that does not unlock the door run a short self clean cycle 1 2 hours.

If there are screws near the top or front that attach the oven top to the base unscrew them and pull the oven top up. However if the whirlpool oven door is locked and won t open even after a cleaning cycle it s possible the stove s control panel has malfunctioned. The oven door has been locked accidentally if there is food in the oven let the oven cool to room temperature and try to unlatch the door.
